Legal
Terms & Conditions
These are the terms of the licence you buy from us — what it covers, what it costs, and how it ends. The software itself is governed by our End User Licence Agreement, which you accept when you install SmartTutor. Where the two overlap, the EULA governs the software and these terms govern the purchase.
1. Who we are
SmartTutor is sold by MIR SOLUTIONS LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in Pune, Maharashtra, India (LLPIN ADB-9284). In these terms "we" and "us" mean MIR SOLUTIONS LLP, and "you" means the person or institution buying a licence.
2. What you are buying
You are buying a licence to use SmartTutor, not the software itself. The licence is personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable, and it does not give you any ownership of the program or its content.
| Licence | How it works |
|---|---|
| Individual | Bound to one machine — the computer whose Machine ID you enter at checkout. It will not work on another computer. Up to two student profiles may be used on that machine. |
| Institution | One master code covering the number of machines you buy, with no machine binding, across all grades. You are responsible for keeping that code inside your institution. |
3. Prices and what is included
- Individual — ₹480 per month, or ₹5,000 per year.
- Institution — ₹21,600 per machine per year, sold yearly only.
All prices are in Indian rupees and include GST. There is no charge for the AI usage itself: the tutor runs on your own Sarvam account, which you pay for directly, and we neither mark it up nor hold any of it.
4. The free trial
SmartTutor includes a 30-day free trial from first install, with no card and no account. When it ends the app asks for a licence code. Please use the trial to satisfy yourself that the product does what you need — it exists so that buying is a decision, not a gamble.
5. Payment and renewal
Payments are processed by Razorpay; we never see or store your card details. You may pay once, or set up autopay so the licence renews by itself. If you pay once, the licence runs to its expiry date and simply stops — we will not charge you again without your instruction.
Autopay can be cancelled at any time, from your bank or UPI app or by writing to us. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund a period already paid for. See our Refund Policy.
6. Delivery
Your licence code is emailed to the address you give at checkout the moment payment clears. An individual code is bound to the machine you specified; an institution master code is not bound to any machine. If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder, use the "Lost code or new PC" option on the checkout page, or write to us and we will resend it.
7. What we ask of you
- Use each individual licence on one machine only, and do not share, resell or publish your code.
- Do not attempt to defeat the licence check, reverse the licence mechanism, or redistribute the software.
- Keep your Sarvam API key private; it is your account with them and you are responsible for its use.
- Do not use SmartTutor for anything unlawful, or to generate content that harms others.
- An institution must keep its master code within its own institution.
We may suspend a licence that is being used in breach of these terms, and a code found published or resold may be blocked.
8. What we do not promise
SmartTutor answers from the textbooks you provide, and it cites the sections it used. It is a study aid: it does not guarantee any examination result, and it is not a substitute for a teacher. AI systems can be wrong, and answers should be checked against the book — which is why the app shows you where each one came from.
The software is provided as it is. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, since it depends on your internet connection and on the AI services you use. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us for the licence in question.
9. Your data
What we hold and why is set out in our Privacy Notice, and what the tutor does with your child's work is set out in Child Safety & Data. In short: the student's work is stored only on your machine and is never sent to us, there is no telemetry, and the only things we hold are the licence details needed to issue and support it. What the tutor needs in order to answer — the question, any homework text, the subject and chapter, and the chapter’s textbook content — is sent to the AI service under your own key; the Privacy Notice sets that out in full.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version date at the top always tells you which version applies, and a change that affects what you have paid for will be notified to licence holders by email.
11. Governing law and how to reach us
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Pune, Maharashtra have jurisdiction.
